When it comes to food, simple is usually best. This simple vinaigrette salad dressing recipe has only three ingredients, but could be the only salad dressing recipe you'll ever need. My family loves this vinaigrette recipe.
Here is your shopping list for this easy salad dressing: olive oil (read about the health benefits of olive oil), rice wine vinegar and agave nectar. You'll also need the salt and pepper shakers. The oil and vinegar-based dressing whisks up in minutes.
Sometimes I'll skip the extra dish (aka mason jar, bowl or salad dressing cruet) and put the ingredients straight onto the salad. I drizzle the olive oil and rice wine vinegar over lettuce or vegetables, then drizzle agave nectar over that, then season it with sea salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste. Toss and serve.
For the Parents
If you have picky eaters, you know how hard it is to get them to eat vegetables or salads. I’m very lucky to have kids who are good eaters. Here’s what I have learned over the years:
- They eat salad when I eat salad.
- They eat things that I think taste good (flavor is important).
- I don’t give them a snack before dinner (they eat more if they are hungry).
- I do give them treats. Instead of saying “No” to everything, I try to use the phrase, “Yes, after you have...”
- If you want to entice your picky eaters to eat salad or vegetables, try my simple salad dressing recipe.
You also can use the basic vinaigrette recipe as a dip for vegetables or crusty bread. The budget recipe is so easy, and I bet your whole family will love it!
